DR. MILLER: We are a moderate sized fertility center. We don’t have a large advertising budget. And our name is not a franchise name as other centers are. Patients will come here often saying gee, we are glad this is not a fertility factory. We have been through programs like that. They like the fact that we all speak together about every patient. In other words, there is no conflicting interest. Dr. Smith and I work together as a team. We present a united front. We make our treatment decisions together as a team. Patients like that. They don’t get conflicting points of view. They know everybody by name. They know who is going to give them a phone call. They also know how to contact me if they have questions or if they have problems or if there is something that is unexpected that happens in their care. It is in a sense an extended family which sounds kind of odd for a medical practice. But it is not uncommon that people once their goal is met and they are ready to leave don’t want to leave. They want to continue their care here because they feel very much at home and very comfortable with us. And we feel the same way about them. It is hard to let people go when they graduate. DR. TIMOTHY SMITH: One of the unique features that we have been able to develop here at North Hudson I.V.F. Center is that I interact directly with the patients. Dr. Miller and I work as a team and do our consultations together. Patients are free to call me at any time. I give them laboratory results. And discuss their treatment plan with them in conjunction with Dr. Miller. During the course of an I.V.F. cycle I am the one that gives them the updates from the lab. And then at the end prior to embryo transfer I get an opportunity to go over the development of the embryos for the past five to six days. I take pictures everyday so I get to—it is show and tell time so I get to show them how the embryos have developed and this has a tendency to reduce stress because the more information people have the less stressful they find this whole process. So I think that is a big advantage to being at a medium-sized program like North Hudson I.V.F. Center.
