The O'Dowds had a successful round of IVF and are now expecting!

MRS. O’DOWD: We began this process about a year ago. Two of our friends were very successful here. So they said please give it a shot, and we did. And that was last August. MR. TOM O’DOWD: And we are now 16 weeks pregnant. MRS. O’DOWD: And we did I.U.I. That didn’t work. And then went right into In Vitro. One shot. Worked out. Emotionally in the beginning it was pretty intimidating. Just didn’t know what to expect. But the staff here just made everything very easy and very—we were very relaxed throughout the entire process. MR. O’DOWD: They basically explained everything to us and it went just as they said and everything worked out great. MRS. O’DOWD: Each doctor really had a different role here. But from the very beginning Dr. Miller was pretty straight-forward with us. In the beginning she said you know this very well may not work. And you need to be prepared. So she was pretty much matter-of-fact. And Dr. Smith we met towards the end when we were ready to do the IN Vitro. And he was pretty positive about everything. MR. O’DOWD: Yes. MRS. O’DOWD: Gave us some really good information. When I first found out I was pregnant I was at work. It was the early part of the day. Dr. Miller gave me a call and she let me know that it came back positive. So I was extremely excited. Thrilled. And hung up with Dr. Miller. Called Tom. And within a minute of wonderful conversation he had to explain that he needed to go and tell his mom. So I said but wait. [laughing] MR. O’DOWD: I believe that is the way it went. [laughing] MRS. O’DOWD: We were excited. MR. O’DOWD: We were very excited. MRS. O’DOWD: I cannot say enough about this place. My last visit here was really hard because I just didn’t want to leave. They make you feel just like you are number one, so important. I just had so much trust. And I think that is why everything worked out for us. Because they really helped me to believe that is you stay focused and you know follow the plan and follow their orders, it very well will work out. And it really did. And I am extremely impressed and grateful for them. MR. O’DOWD: Very thankful.
